La Lanta Fine Art
April 26 – May 31, 2025
La Lanta Fine Art proudly presents “Back to the Flow”, a group exhibition by six contemporary artists whose works are widely acclaimed in the Thai art scene: Yuree Kensaku, Tawatchai Puntusawasdi, Maythee Noijinda, Pod Thanachai Ujjin, Krit Ngamsom, and Rukkit Satapornvajana. Each will share their perspectives on artistic inspiration. This group show will take viewers on an exploration of each individual’s unique aesthetic and worldview. One thing they all have in common is their constant commitment to the process of creating their artwork, which reflects the Flow State, a concept proposed by positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, who conducted research and concluded that artists who immerse themselves in creating their work, regardless of surrounding distractions and without any thought of fatigue, all operate under conditions based on a balance of having clear and challenging goals, while also following a process grounded in structure and direction.
“Back to the Flow” portrays how these artists explore their roots of inspiration and the working practices of individuals who have already found their artistic identities. Although each has established their own vision and purpose for creating art, they remain open to new challenges. Each artist in this exhibition finds inspiration from various perspectives, ranging from childhood memories, observations of connections between different fields of aesthetics, impressions of other people’s life stories, reflections on their current state of mind, to personal views on today’s society. What all the artists share is a passion for transforming their ideas into reality. “Back to the Flow” answers the question of why artists continue to create and also represents Thai contemporary artists in the present era, who never stop offering new things to art viewers.
About the Artists
Yuree Kensaku graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Bangkok University. A Thai-Japanese artist, she has gained international recognition for vibrant and thought-provoking works characterized by cartoon-like visuals across a variety of mediums including painting, design, street art, animation, music, live performance, and 3D art.
Tawatchai Puntusawasdi has a BFA from Chiangmai University and an MFA from Silpakorn University. Known for architectural, three-dimensional sculptures made of hardwood, slate, organic fibers and metal, Tawatchai has exhibited in Japan, the United States, Europe, Australia, Taiwan, and wider Southeast Asia. He has participated in both the Venice and Sydney Biennales and has twice been awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
Rukkit Satapornvajana is a graphic designer and street artist who has been painting on urban surfaces since 2011. His stenciled works, distinguished by a signature colorful and geometric style, can be seen from the streets of cities in Thailand, Korea, India, Hongkong, Dubai, China, Taiwan, Japan, Macao and Singapore. Some of his notable clients include Nike, Toyota, Starbucks, Be@rbrick Medicomtoy and CentralWorld.
Krit Ngamsom, a graduate of the School of Art at Bangkok University, is a professor in the Visual Art department at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. Krit’s interactive works are influenced by childhood memories, often incorporating domestic objects and nature. He was one of the artists selected for Thailand’s “Brand New 2008” initiative, and has exhibited works in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and England, as well as at the Venice Biennale in 2019.
May-T Noijinda (May-T) is a musician, artist, graphic designer, DJ and founder of the independent record label, Mowgli Records. He is the guitarist of Moderndog, an alternative rock band that has released several albums over the past three decades. May-T enjoys creating art across a range of mediums— which include drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and street art— and organizing exhibitions.
Thanachai Ujjin, also known as Pod, graduated with a degree in Art Education from the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University.
