ATTA Gallery is happy to present an exhibition of material-based contemporary art by 3 artists in one exhibition: Ceramic objects and contemporary jewelry/wearable art by Benedikt Fischer (& Rudy De Gruyl) and Contemporary jewelry/wearable art by Karin Johansson and Noon Passama.

This exhibition is in a way a response to COVID-19 time, during which family, friends and colleagues could not meet up as usual. Karin Johansson (SE) lives and works in Sweden while Benedikt Fischer (AT) and Noon Passama (TH) live and work in the Netherlands so the lockdown and the closing of borders, even within Europe, had made it hard or even impossible for them to meet up in person during the last 2 years. The 3 artists have known one another through their practices in contemporary jewelry making and they have been appreciating and admiring one another’s creativities, creations and practices. Their relationships have been more than professional colleagues for quite some time after having their works exhibited together in the past in Munich, Germany (Karin and Benedikt) and Gothenburg, Sweden (Noon and Benedikt). However, this is the first time that all 3 of them will be exhibiting together.

Even when they cannot be in Thailand together in person during COVID-19 pandemic as previously planned, their artistic creations will still be exhibited together. It is a proof that even though COVID-19 has kept them apart physically, it cannot stop their desire and determination to have this special exhibition together.

In this exhibition one would see the 3 artists’ uniques artistic expressions as they work with different concepts, in different ways, using different technical methods, and with different materials. However, one thing that can be seen in all 3 artists’ practices is the love of exploration…be it through their interests, forms and materials in realizing their creations.
