Flower & Cosmos: The Universe Within
January 21 – March 25, 2023
La Lanta Fine Art
10 January 2023, BANGKOK – La Lanta Fine Art is pleased to announce a debut solo art exhibition by Sakul Intakul, a renowned Thai floral artist who pivots his artistic expressions to contemporary art in various disciplines including sculptures, paintings, art installations, poems and performance art.
The exhibition, titled “Flower & Cosmos: The Universe Within,” considers Sakul’s artistic and spiritual journey over the past 3 decades. The exhibition investigates the connectivity of individuals that makes up the fabric of society with the analogy of single flowers forming an intricate floral net (Takhai Dokmai) in a traditional Thai floral design.
As Sakul writes, “When a flower blooms, the Universe rejoices.” From a minute scale up to the largest degree, all lives and all things in the universe are connected in many unseen dimensions. Nothing can endure all by itself. The truth and the true beauty of our universe lie in this elaborate labyrinth of connectivity from the microscopic to galactic level”.
Sakul reveals this core idea into the form of large-scaled hanging wood sculptures, free-standing metal sculptures, paintings and immersive installations juxtaposing materials used in Thai floral art with digital media. A seasoned writer in his own right, Sakul also presents a series of poems from his portfolio of creative writings through the form of sound installation within the art space. To celebrate the debut of his solo art exhibition, a live performance by Sakul Intakul and a poem recital by Vivi York will be organized during the opening reception on January 21, 2023 from 17.00 to 21.00 hrs.
“Flower & Cosmos: The Universe Within” will be on display at La Lanta Fine Art from January 21 until March 25, 2023.
La Lanta Fine Art is located at 3rd Floor, 2198/10-11 Narathiwas Rajanakarin Road soi 22, Chongnonsi, Yannawa, Bangkok 10120. Opening hours is Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 19.00 hrs.
