Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, and the management team at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Health Department.

BANGKOK, Thailand (March 5, 2021) Nissan Thailand has expanded its ‘CARE FOR YOU – Nissan Next Fight’ CSR campaign, to provide cars to the Thai Department of Public Health and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to support medical officials to proactively screen and mass-test the public to fight Covid-19.

The program provides Nissan largest utility vehicles, including the new Nissan Navara and Nissan Urvans, to Health Department and BMA officials, to support the transportation of four Covid-19 examination teams of doctors and medical support staff. They will proactively screen and mass-test in high risk areas across Bangkok and nearby provinces, for one month.

“Nissan believes in doing our utmost to help Thai society, this includes donating our vehicles to provide transportation support for front-line government examination teams, who are the real heroes in the fight against Covid-19. They will be provided with the new Nissan Navara and Nissan Urvan, reliable Nissan vehicles to assist them to transport medical teams and testing equipment to mass test at-risk public,” Mr. Narasimhan said.

This support is the next part of Nissan’s ongoing ‘CARE FOR YOU’ initiative launched in March 2020, bringing a range of measures and resources designed to support customers and Thai public and ensure their continued safety during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

These include three ‘Fight-Covid’ vehicle caravan trips to support the Thai Red Cross and the Foundation for Good Governance on Medicine, and special vehicle rates for essential workers.

  • Nissan also offers the ‘CARE FOR YOU: Drive at your home’ program to test-drive selected models from the comfort of their own homes
  • ‘CARE FOR YOU: Aftersales service’ introduces convenient on-site and vehicle pickup services for periodical maintenance.
  • ‘CARE FOR YOU: vehicle disinfection services’ offers free-of-charge vehicle disinfection services to all types of cars regardless if it is a Nissan brand vehicle or not.

Nissan is also taking additional steps to implement several key preventive control measures for Covid-19 at Nissan showrooms and service centres across the country. These include disinfecting the service center every 30 minutes; temperature checking all employees and customers when they enter the dealership; ensuring that staff wear face masks at all times; providing alcohol gel throughout the premises; and consistently disinfecting key vehicle touchpoints like the steering wheel, gear shift, seats, door handles, and front console panels.
