Prestigious PULSE Awards on the Theme “Ending AIDS, Erase Stigma!” Extends Artists’ Submissions To 31 December
Bangkok, 23rd November, 2023 – PULSE Clinic and PULSE Gallery have extended the submission deadline for this year’s PULSE Awards to December 31st, 2023. Under the theme “Ending AIDS, Erase Stigma!”, the Awards will culminate in the SEXHIBITION, an event dedicated to promoting sexual health awareness and combatting discrimination associated with AIDS and HIV. Selected artworks will be auctioned for charity, and there will be monetary prizes for winning submissions.
For over four decades, sexual health has been a critical global concern, with the emergence of the HIV epidemic in the early 1980s marking the onset of a worldwide pandemic. Despite significant progress in understanding and managing the virus, HIV and AIDS remain persistent global challenges. Yet the stigma surrounding HIV remains unchanged, creating hurdles for affected individuals even with advancements in treatment and prevention measures.
Fittingly, the theme “Ending AIDS, Erase Stigma” embodies the mission of the PULSE Awards 2023. PULSE Clinic and PULSE Gallery are dedicated to championing sexual health awareness and mitigating the impact of HIV. Through art, a potent medium for global communication, PULSE Gallery provides a platform for artists to showcase their work as they host the prestigious PULSE Awards this year.
The Awards include two categories, Painting and Sculpture. Winners of each category will have a chance to work with PULSE as PULSE Artist In Residence. In addition, monetary prizes will be awarded in each category, as follows:
First Prize 100.000THB; and
Most Promising 50.000THB
