Bangkok, Thailand, 21 February 2022 Prudential Life Assurance Public Company Limited (Prudential Thailand) has donated funds to support construction of a Negative Pressure Room for Sampran Hospital’s (Rai Khing) intensive care unit to help severely ill COVID-19 patients and those with other respiratory diseases. This Negative Pressure Room helps adjust air pressure to control the spread of infectious diseases and harmful particles.

Prudential Thailand established the COVID-19 Relief Fund since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020 when the company allocated resources to be distributed in key Asian and African markets where Prudential is present to support various communities in the fight against COVID-19. Donations to support construction of the Intensive Care Unit Negative Pressure Room for Sampran Hospital (Rai Khing) totaled over 1.2 million baht. This is a continuation of Prudential Thailand’s mission of building Negative Pressure Rooms at four hospital last year, including: 1) Golden Jubilee Medical Center, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital of Mahidol University, 2) Vajira Hospital, 3) Hatyai Hospital, and 4) Priest Hospital.

Ms Pasalaree Theerasas, Chief Customer Officer, Prudential Thailand, said, “Prudential Thailand is delighted to donate funds to build an Intensive Care Unit Negative Pressure Room for Sampran Hospital (Rai Khing) to support severely ill COVID-19 patients and others with respiratory diseases. Our goal is to see patients recover as quickly as possible and return safely to their beloved families.”

Tinnakorn Chuenchom, M.D., Director of Sampran Hospital (Rai Khing), said, “COVID-19 continues to spread rapidly and we have many patients with COVID and other respiratory disease who come in for treatment each day, meaning bed occupancy at the hospital is very high. The hospital is very grateful for the support from Prudential Thailand for the Intensive Care Unit Negative Pressure Room construction, which is now successfully completed and can be used immediately.”

Prudential Thailand will continue its ‘COVID-19 Relief Fund’ mission by supporting local hospitals across Thailand while preparing Thai society to move past the COVID-19 pandemic together.
