PULSE Chroma 2022 – Art Exhibition Celebrating Diversity, Inclusivity and Social Well-being

June 1st – August 31st, 2022
PULSE Galleries

Chroma is Greek word for ‘colour’. As the world is filled with colours, creativities spread all around humankind. We have been using colours for 40,000 years starting with cave painting. In the era of Ancient Egypt, they used natural pigments for painting faces, pyramid walls, and even coffins. Originally many of the Greek – and Roman – statues we see in museums, along with their temples, were brightly painted in a multitude of colours. And in Indian culture, there is a famous festival called ‘Holi Festival’ where different colours are being celebrated. In more recent times, we have developed the skill of using colour, we found the concept of colours in the light, and we have been using colours to symbolize something, such as logos, movies, and even social movements.

Following the 1969 Stonewall riots in NYC, the rainbow flag a.k.a. pride flag was created by Gilbert Baker. The flag represents the diversity within our community. It is shown that colours have always been strongly associated with all dimensions of human society.

This Pride, PULSE Social Enterprise is launching the PULSE Chroma 2022 – Art Exhibition Celebrating Diversity, Inclusivity and Social Well-being from June 1st – August 31st (3 months). The exhibition celebrates DiverCity (sic) and inclusivity; Every one of us is loved, unique, and respected equally without regards to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies make us who we are and form the values of PULSE.

The exhibition consists of photo exhibition, digital arts, fine arts and light installation from rising-star and well-known Thai artists. For example, you will see photographs from Pui—Surachai Saengsuwan, paintings from Oat Montien, and ceramic sculptures from Tew—Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch. All of these works will be displayed and sold at 5 PULSE Galleries: Silom CBD, Phrom Phong, Phloen Chit and Phaya Thai, and 1 partner gallery: House of Heals
