Bangkok, Thailand — June 18, 2024 — Today, Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM, introduced new AI-powered Tableau innovations: Tableau Pulse, Einstein Copilot for Tableau, and Tableau Desktop Public Edition to the Thai market. These innovations will bring data insights to more users and make it easier for organisations to make better, faster decisions.
AI-powered analytics is further lowering the barrier to drive action with enterprise data. According to a 2024 report by Forrester Research, 59% of data and analytics decision-makers whose organisations use AI technologies report significant cost savings from using AI in operations, and 47% say they have AI-based data products generating revenue.
According to Salesforce’s State of IT report, 92% of IT leaders in Thailand believe generative AI will play a prominent role. However, 70% are struggling to meet IT capacity demands. Tableau’s latest innovations will provide AI-powered analytics to leaders and help them enable all users in their organisations to make effective data-driven decisions.
Tableau Pulse
Salesforce announced the general availability of Tableau Pulse, designed to help customers in Thailand make better, faster decisions with trusted generative AI and analytics. Tableau Pulse uses generative AI to surface insights in both natural language and visual formats, making it easier to discover important metrics, gain insights, ask questions, and tie data to a real-world business context.
Tableau Pulse offers several features to help business users make better decisions quickly, including the Tableau Pulse Insight Platform, Tableau Pulse on Mobile, Tableau Pulse Slack Digest, and Tableau Pulse Metrics Layer. Tableau Pulse also introduces new features “Ask” Q&A, Metrics Bootstrapping, and Metric Goals, which automatically identify and deliver insights based on a user’s personalised set of KPIs. Users receive these insights via email, chat, and mobile devices, with the ability to interact, explore, and filter the information.
Einstein Copilot for Tableau
Salesforce also announced the beta availability of Einstein Copilot for Tableau, a new capability designed to help users in every role and function explore data with AI assistance. With Einstein Copilot for Tableau, users can dive deep into their data without needing deep analytical training. They can use Tableau’s powerful analytical engine through natural language to query and derive rich insights from data sources like spreadsheets, cloud and on-premises data warehouses, and Salesforce Data Cloud.
Einstein Copilot for Tableau makes data analysis accessible to every business user and even suggests questions to users based on analysing the business data and metadata. This helps reduce the number of change requests and updates needed from data analysts, often resulting in faster data-driven decision-making.
Tableau Desktop Public Edition
Tableau is investing in building the next generation of data analysts through Tableau Desktop Public. Tableau Desktop Public is a free platform that allows users to explore, create, and publicly share data visualisations online. With over 9.5 million published workbooks, it serves as a hub where analysts can hone their skills and express their passion for data.
With the Tableau Desktop Public Edition, users can work with and save data securely and locally on their desktop or share it online with the Tableau Public community. Now, even more learners, data enthusiasts, and non-profit users can explore the data that matters to them most.
Delivering Trusted Innovations with Einstein Trust Layer
Tableau Pulse and Einstein Copilot for Tableau also leverage the Einstein Trust Layer, allowing users to benefit from AI without compromising customer data. Unlike other AI orchestration engines, the Einstein Trust Layer does not retain customer prompts or the LLM’s responses, ensuring that customer and proprietary data remain private.
“We are at a pivotal moment for AI. Businesses are sitting on mountains of data, but sifting through and understanding that data is hard. AI-powered analytics empowers users with the insights to unlock trapped value from their data,” said Akkasha Sultan, Assistant Vice President, Tableau ASEAN and Greater China Region. “Our new AI-powered Tableau innovations will revolutionise how businesses in Thailand access and use data. They will help anyone, regardless of their role, scale data-driven decisions and drive business value where it matters most.”
