will open on 05 November 2022 at Chiang Mai’s Head High Second Floor (a non-profit Art Space).

The artist uses a traditional Thai painting technique in which the powder colours are extracted from natural materials such as earth, rocks, minerals, shells, plants, etc. This gives the colours in his works a unique radiant effect.

The “Thai” miniature paintings, painted on teak, are full of fine details derived from a combination of faith, universal human values, literature and historical and current events, allowing the viewer to explore and question the signs and philosophical approaches hidden in the painting. In this way, the viewer can discover the essence of each image for themselves.

“Spiritual Anchor” – the paintings in this series are inspired by the small joys that occur in most people’s everyday lives. These happen to us relatively often and, as if by chance, quiet our minds and give one the strength to cope with life. Small joys can be, for example, a delicious meal, an outing or an activity that one enjoys.

Subannakrit has put these simple occurrences into a form similar to the depictions of god figures in most religions.

Imagine a new god born out of the ordinary and the old with the help of symbols and technical and electronic household devices that everyone knows and that are easily accessible.
