St. George’s University (SGU) in Grenada, West Indies, is organizing events for medical aspirants in Thailand in October

SGU School of Medicine will be hosting two events for Thai students who are interested in practicing medicine in the future. SGU welcomes high school students, university students, as well as parents to attend.

1/ Webinar: Join SGU’s upcoming webinar to learn ‘How to become a doctor in the UK’

As a future medical student begins to map out their journey towards becoming a doctor, it is important for them to understand the career options available beyond the medical degree. This webinar, hosted by the Assistant Dean of Basic Sciences at St. George’s University, Dr. James Coey, will give them a closer look at the pathway of becoming a doctor in the UK after they have graduated with a medical degree. The webinar will be conducted in English.

What will be covered:

  • What is the UK Foundation Program
  • Beyond the UK Foundation Program
  • Required licensing exams – Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB)
  • General Medical Council (GMC) Registration
  • UK graduate visa

2/ Workshop: Want to become a doctor in the US or UK? Meet SGU in Phuket.

  • Experience First Aid CPR and AED practice by Emergency Medical Technicians.
  • Certificate will be issued to participants.
  • Representative from SGU will give a presentation on how to become a doctor in the US or UK followed by Q&A
  • Free admission
  • Luncheon will be provided
