Nissan brings Christmas spirit to Bangkok’s streets using the Vehicle to Home (V2H) capabilities of Nissan LEAF to supply power to Christmas decorations, with a bidirectional charger.

BANGKOK, Thailand 23 December, 2021 – Nissan Thailand is proactively presenting how the Nissan LEAF is more than just an electric vehicle (EV) by highlighting its ‘Vehicle to Home’ (V2H) capabilities in Thailand. This comes after the Thai government rolled out incentive measures to promote a household solar rooftop scheme and encourage the production of clean energy.

The move is also in line with Nissan Ambition 2030, the company’s new long-term vision for empowering mobility and beyond, that lays out a plan to deliver superior value by empowering individual journeys and society as a whole through exciting, electrified vehicles and technological innovations.

Nissan Thailand is taking this opportunity to clearly articulate how we innovate by creating a smart electric ecosystem that supports integrated mobility. Nissan is a global leader in mass-produced EVs as the Nissan LEAF is renowned for its unique driving experienced delivered by its advanced powertrain that delivers smooth and responsive acceleration, stable handling, and quietness. It was launched as the world’s first 100% electric, zero-emissions car designed for the mass market and is one of the only EVs sold in Thailand that can provide V2H electrification directly via CHAdeMO charging, which has been certified in many countries around the world. Designed from the start to accommodate bidirectional charging, which makes Nissan LEAF capable to supply energy to the home, back to the electricity grid and more according to owner’s needs. Together they provide an elevated level of versatility, stability, and reliability that combines peace-of-mind on the road and at home.

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Delta are partnering with the Nissan LEAF to promote V2H or ‘Vehicle to Business’ (V2B) electrification in Thailand by bringing in safe, certified, and efficient equipment to the market that ensures compatibility with infrastructure and EVs. It also helps those interested in V2H or Vehicle to Building (V2B) to use their cars as a power source to run households or small businesses and save money on electricity bills, or as an alternative power option during blackouts or emergencies, while also supporting the broader adoption of renewable energy in Thai society.

A single EV can generate almost 12 kWh of electricity per day, enough to sustain a household or small business for approximately three days during an outside power disruption. It can also play a significant role in a strategy to reduce monthly electricity charges by harnessing the combined sustainability of EVs together with household solar power generation.

By partnering with local governments and private companies, Nissan Thailand is committed to empowering journeys by offering more integrated experiences to customers through collaborations that provide society with incentives to build smart ecosystems with integrated mobility.
