Bangkok, Thailand (December 8, 2020) – Thailand Automotive Quality Awards (TAQA) presented two prestigious awards to Nissan Thailand, recognizing the Japanese brand’s ‘Outstanding Environmentally Friendly Brand Image’ and ‘Outstanding Brand Image for Good Corporate Social Responsibility.’

The awards were presented by Mr. Krichanont Iyapunya, Secretary to the Minister of Industry to Mr. Chayapak Laisuwan, General Manager Communications of Nissan Thailand, at TAQA’s annual ceremony held at Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok.

TAQA Award winners are selected based on satisfaction surveys of more than 2,000 car users across Thailand; the survey includes all leading auto brands and vehicle nameplates. The awards enable the public to better consider important factors involved in a vehicle purchase decision, and allow manufacturers to further develop products which best meet consumer needs.

Today’s awards recognize Nissan Thailand’s leadership position in environmental practices and its commitment to corporate social responsibility, both key components of the Company’s NEXT transformation plan, one that sets corporate goals for improving the environment and the quality of people’s lives.

Nissan Thailand’s considerable achievements in environmental innovation include the world’s first 100-percent electric, zero-emission car designed for the mass market, the Nissan LEAF and newly-released e-POWER technology that provides EV-driving without charging. Nissan also has a committed strategy to help build a sustainable electrification ecosystem in Thailand. Solutions like these are essential to a smart, clean and sustainable driving future – while not compromising affordability or driving pleasure.

Supporting Nissan Thailand’s Corporate Social Responsibility award, the company is now in the fourth year of its ‘Honor the King’s Legacy’ social innovation platform. The project focuses on fostering social innovation to benefit local communities, and equipping university students with skills and support to improve environmental and quality of life issues within Thai communities.

These TAQA awards are the latest honors Nissan has received this year, following other distinguished accolades including TAJA Thailand Car of the Year award for the Nissan KICKS e-POWER, 2021 Japan “Technology of the Year” award for e-POWER and Japan’s ‘3 Best Cars of the Year’ given by the Automotive Researcher’ and Journalists’ Conference of Japan (RJC) for Kicks e-POWER manufactured in Thailand.
